Field Trip!

I know my posts are hitting all at once, but we've been having computer issues :)

We recently went to Mansfield, MO to visit the Laura Ingalls Wilder Home and Museum. We have been studying about pioneers and Courtney has read a couple of the Little House books, so it was really a neat trip for us. These houses are where Laura and Almanzo Wilder lived when the Little House on the Prairie series of books were written.

We saw a picture in the house of Laura standing in this exact spot on the back porch.

On the way home, we made a stop at the Precious Moments Chapel in Carthage, MO.

This was a really pretty spot overlooking "Grandpa's Island." This is literally an island on the property on which Sam Butcher(creator of Precious Moments) built an incredible playhouse for his grandchildren. It is private - this is as close as we could get.

I want to see the Precious Moments area!! We are always driving through when they are closed, or we are on a tight time schedule. One of these days, though, one of these days...:-)
Sounds like you had a fun trip!
