One of my favorite days of the year

Five plus years ago, we were privileged to meet a great group of people through our adoption agency. We waited together for news of our little ones in China. Seven of these kiddos joined their forever families within 2 weeks of each other in 2005. Every year, in celebration of the anniversary of that event, we meet to renew friendships and watch our little (but fast growing) miracles rekindle their own friendships with each other. It's amazing to me that they can enjoy each other so much mostly because they share a common history. They have similar features. They have similar stories. Some of them have similar fears and insecurities. I pray that these friendships forged now will help them through times of sorting through those fears and insecurities as they grow.

Since 2005, a few have added more children to their families, also from China. The group this year consisted of 14 girls and 1 boy.

I will tell you that our little reunion is an amazing sight to behold. I absolutely love this day. Now, for the pictures!

The 2005 group
One attempt at a group picture. Our little man was not thrilled. Check out his face (on the left) and the "looks" he's getting from the girls on the right side. Hee hee. One of them is his sister.
Here's the little man getting "looks" from the girls again. Don't you love it?

This train was SO much fun.
Cassidy and friendCassidy and her buddy who met their families on the same day in a Chonqing orphange. Wow.
